John Matarese
John Matarese, Lead Reporter
A veteran reporter and two-time Emmy Award winner, John is our Don’t Waste Your Money consumer reporter. Each week he keeps viewers updated on the latest consumer information with Scam Alerts and Product Recalls. And when he finds a service taking advantage of us, he’s not afraid to say “Doesn’t that stink!”John’s goal is to help viewers find good values and avoid bad deals, with his signature line: “Don’t Waste Your Money.”

Genevieve Lill, Editor-In-Chief
Genevieve joined DWYM after being drawn to its mission to bring positivity, and resource-saving tips and tricks to its audience. Genevieve brings a decade of digital media experience to the DWYM team, and worked previously as the editor-in-chief of Make It Better Media and at YourTango as the VP of content and branded media. Genevieve has a degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Just don’t expect any stories on her love for frogs, it’s one of few things that terrifies her.

 

Sarah Kuta, Associate Editor
Sarah is an award-winning reporter who got her start writing for news outlets such as the Associated Press, the Denver Post and the Boulder Daily Camera. She’s a graduate of Northwestern University and now lives in Colorado. She’s always looking for good deals and spends her weekends hiking, scoring awesome finds at thrift shops and sampling tasty craft beer. She’s pretty much obsessed with dogs and has to stop and say hi when she sees one out and about!

 

Stephanie Auteri, Editor
Steph Auteri has written about women’s health, sexuality, and sex education for the Atlantic, Pacific Standard, VICE, the Establishment, and other publications. She is the author of the forthcoming memoir A Dirty Word. She also nerds out on the regular at Book Riot, teaches vinyasa yoga, and manages to somehow squeeze in the whole motherhood thing.

 

Marie Rossiter, Editor
Marie is a freelance writer, wife, mom of two teenagers and a Disney World nerd!

Meghan Streit, Editor
Meghan brings a decade of journalism experience to DWYM. She has a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and was previously the managing editor of Make It Better Media in Chicago. Her work has appeared in Refinery29, Jezebel, Kiplinger, Huffington Post, Crain’s Chicago Business, AfterEllen and the Windy City Times. When she’s not busy editing or writing, Meghan likes tending to her garden and challenging herself to cook meals using only homegrown ingredients. She’s passionate about finding new ways to make life with a toddler a little bit easier—and is very open to suggestions!

 

Christina Tenhundfeld, Audience Development and Marketing Manager
Christina is responsible for helping grow the DWYM brand and is one of our most passionate evangelists. Prior to working for DWYM, Christina focused her time helping fuel the marketing and community engagement initiatives for 35 brands across Scripps. And if you have questions on horses, Christina is our in-house equestrian expert.

 

Kristin Forte, Video Production
Kristin Forte is a video producer with years of experience in managing all stages of production for leading companies including Zillow, Howdini, and P&G. With an eclectic media background, she has also worked in publishing and written NYC theater reviews. Outside of the office Kristin can be found at a concert, in the park, or documenting street art.

 

Caitlyn Maloney, Marketing
Caitlyn is a graduate of Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication, and just couldn’t stay away from Scripps after graduation. She is focused on content planning and development, social media and community management and writing. She has coined the nickname of the “Swiss Army Knife” of the team, always jumping in on a wide variety of projects and responsibilities. And if you have any questions about Harry Potter, Caitlyn is our resident Harry Potter extraordinaire!

 

Bo Schuerman, General Manager
Prior to joining DWYM / Scripps, Bo spent eight years with Procter and Gamble in digital marketing strategy. In addition to his time at P&G, Bo has launched a variety of new companies across both the digital and CPG space. And if you’re looking to start a granola business, he can provide a wealth of insight.
